[The Gear falls down from Hughes's hand and clutters onto the ground, landing on the "OFF" button and effectively ending that 'recording' session.]

[Well he was kinda hiding in the background while you were trying to smash the Edward Elric...but this Scar's voice is different from the Scar he knows off.]

Huh, it's that obvious? I guess it must be a common mistake for newcomers to send out accidental voice calls.

I think he's got a bit of a temper on him! But it's fine, one day he'll realise how lucky he is when he's got a good female Pokemon by his side. He's seriously really cute though; I wish I could show you pictures! He doesn't like me doing it either but because he's got soft fur and he's a fire Pokemon, cuddling him is like hugging a nice, furry and warm teddy bear! And he's really clever. He's a short little thing, but he's already figured out ways to reach surfaces and door knobs above his height.

[Hughes immediately snatches the gear up from the ground and jams it to his ear. He probably shouldn't shout into the receiver like that, but he's really, really so happy to hear her voice.]

haha, he certainly does. when she-cyndaquil starts with a "cynda!" to hughes, and begins waddling about with the device in her paws, there's a young voice, some dropping of wood, and steps that get closer: ]

Chinatsu-! [ chinatsu loved a good session of tag, so she starts— it's too bad she's not as fast on two legs, and sooner that she would have liked, he's over her. ]

Again-? You said you'd help!! [ but nag nag nag! is all she hears. they needed wood for their fire, later! alas, chinatsu feels that she needed a break, and if she opened her tiny eyes, she would have given them an equally tiny roll with a sigh to accompany. i will help!

the pouting brigade is all on this end. he's thinking that she's playing games or something ( got to admit, those were cool— but there was work to be done! ). he takes the pokegear, then, and when he sees that she's been . . . calling people . . .

His chatter fades into silence. Some clicking and tapping noises follow the awkward cut-off in this conversation but they're signs that Hughes hasn't hung up on Walter, he's just...fumbling with something.

A minute or two passes before there's a slight sigh from Hughes's end and Walter's Pokegear registers an incoming attachment. Opening it will reveal a Cyndaquil curled up on the bed, apparently napping.]

[His voice has lost lots of volume, and he seems almost...tense. What's going on here?]

Hughes raises an eyebrow slightly and listens in until the end, when the young boy on the other side finally realises that the Gear had been on the whole time.]

Yo! Are you Chinatsu's owner? I have a Cyndaquil too, but he's a little shy and definitely not as outgoing as your little Chinatsu sounds to be! Come on Roy, say hi to the boy on the phone!

[Compared to his trainer, Roy seems to be less happy-go-lucky. And he's still not happy about being called shy!! Because!! He is not!! Shy!! But anyway, he politely greets the other person on the phone.]

I hope not! It would be seriously uncute of him to be so grouchy at such a young age. And Typhlosion is his last evolution so hopefully he'll learn how to smile and relax a little more by then. Otherwise...

She never cried too hard or pulled tantrums and she was always the most thoughtful baby in the world to her mama and papa! And also the most beautiful baby too; she takes after my wife so much, and that's a pretty good thing because I'm not really much to look at!
